Walk-in Shower Conversion

Tub-to-shower conversions are the single most-requested bathroom project in the Valley, driven by the aging-in-place demographics of Sun City, PebbleCreek, Leisure World, and Trilogy communities — and by younger homeowners who simply never use the tub. Conversions in Arizona homes have a few quirks worth planning around. Slab-on-grade construction means the original tub drain is offset 12–14" from the wall while shower drains sit centered — that requires saw-cutting the slab and re-plumbing in PVC. Hard water (10–18 gpg) etches frameless glass, so we specify low-iron glass with factory ClearShield or EnduroShield nano-coatings. Monsoon humidity spikes also drive ventilation requirements: we upsize exhaust fans to 80–110 CFM per ASHRAE 62.2 to keep the new shower mold-free.

Every conversion is permitted when required and built to IRC P2708 (shower-floor area minimum 1,024 sq in, with 30" clear in every direction), ANSI A118.10 waterproofing standards, and ADA 4.21 grab-bar specs when accessibility is a goal.
